Made with sustainable, natural antiviral compounds that are completely harmless to humans, animals, plant and marine life but deadly to all airborne virus. Suitable for use in Surgical, Respirator and Folding Respirator type masks.
We are an autonomous part of the Optimum Technology Group, headquartered in London, the United Kingdom.
Our primary function is to innovate, design, develop, manufacture and distribute Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) of the highest possible performance and quality whilst maintaining sustainable processes and using recyclable materials during their manufacture and distribution as part of our 'Circular Economy' philosophy.
Every action that we take in our daily work activities is focussed upon providing state of the art solutions in PPE by designing out waste and regenerating the natural systems of the planet whilst simultaneously, protecting our customers from the transmission of all known airborne viral infections.
The conventional linear economy is where the world's natural raw materials and resources are taken, processed and manufactured into products, often using power generated by fossil fuel and then disposed of at the end of life into the general waste stream - more often than not ending up in landfill.
The circular economy does just the opposite. We use sustainable raw materials and resources, manufacture products from those materials and resources using energy from sustainable sources only, such as wind and solar power and then recycle 100% of the used products at the end of life.
The circular economy is the only responsible way to do business in the 21st century to secure the future health of the planet and by implication, human kind.
At the moment, it is the Covid-19 pandemic that has taken hundreds of thousands of lives and cost the global economy trillions of dollars, plunging millions of the world's poor further into poverty.
Tomorrow, it could be another airborne virus or indeed a mutation of the Covid-19 virus that causes similar catastrophic disruption.
It is clear that collectively, countries across the world were not well prepared for the Covid-19 pandemic and in the future, a much higher level of contingency planning and preparedness will be required to deal with similar out- breaks.
In the meantime, we will all have to live with the fact that the Covid-19 virus is present in our communities and with no viable vaccine available, we shall have to take life changing precautions to stop the infection rate reaching unsustainable levels.
Our vision at Airwave is to create PPE face masks that de-activates airborne virus upon contact - not in hours but in seconds - to mitigate the risk of transmission of the disease where social distancing is difficult or impossible to maintain such as on public transport, during air travel, at sporting and other large entertainment events and even whilst shoppIng or attending educational facilities
"Some form of facial protection is going to become the norm across society"

"Mounting evidence suggests that the coronavirus is airborne - but health advice has not yet caught up"
"Governments are starting to change policies amid concerns that tiny droplets can carry SARS-CoV-2 (Covid-19). After months of denying the importance of this, the World Health Organization is reconsidering its stance."
Nature 8th July 2020
Daily life as we know it has changed significantly during the spring of 2020.
The Covid-19 virus has had a severe impact on the way that we go about our activities and despite easing of the various strategies taken by different countries to contain the spread of the virus, there remains the risk that there will be a follow up outbreak, or second spike as it is often referred to, or that the virus may mutate annually, as does regular influenza and become an endemic disease across the world.
Whilst the scientific community is putting massive re- sources into the discovery of a vaccine to counter the worst effects of Covid-19, there is no guarantee that a viable and safe vaccine will ever be developed.
So, we have to take other steps to mitigate the risk of contracting Covid-19.
These steps include regular hand hygiene by washing with hot soapy water or using an alcohol based sanitiser and maintaining, wherever possible, social distancing of at least two metres.
But what if circumstances make social distancing difficult or impossible to achieve?
How will we ever be able to safely travel and attend work in the factory or the office?
What about social activities such as attending live sport- ing events, or going to the cinema or theatre or even a live music concert?
And how can we safely go to a retail store or even attend school or college without concerns about contracting the Covid-19 virus?
Well the simple truth is that there is no single guaranteed solution.
But we are able to provide is a new technology incorporated into regular face mask types that will de-activate (kill) all known airborne virus upon contact in seconds - not hours - but seconds.
So at least life can be led with the comfort of knowing that the risk of contracting an infection is at least significantly mitigated.
“CDC recommends that people wear a cloth face covering to cover their nose and mouth in the community setting. This is an additional public health measure people should take to reduce the spread of COVID-19 in addition to (not instead of) social distancing, frequent hand cleaning and other everyday preventive actions.”
We have developed 'functional non-woven fabrics' that contain compounds that will de-activate (kill) all known airborne virus on contact in seconds.
The active powders that we have identified and tested are sustainable, naturally occurring com- pounds that are harmless to humans, animals, plant and marine life but deadly to airborne virus.
So how do we 'functionalize' the non-woven fabrics?
Well, we already own a fully developed and patented technology for impregnating standard and application specific non-woven fabrics using high frequency sound waves and we will use this technology to impregnate active powders into non- woven fabrics and then manufacture masks from those fabrics that will de-activate airborne virus upon contact.
Our impregnation technology is a fully developed process that is already successfully used in the personal care sector of the hygiene market (infant diapers, adult incontinence and feminine hygiene) as well as in the therapeutic sheet face mask market, acute wound care market and a number of different types of filtration markets.
Difficult as it may be to accept, we have to acknowledge that the Covid-19 virus may be with us all for many years to come.
Intensive work is underway to develop a viable and safe vaccine against Covid-19.
However, it is a sobering thought to note that despite continuing work at many highly regarded and dedicated laboratories around the world, a viable and safe vaccine to protect against the SARS- CoV viral outbreak of 2002/3 has yet to be found.

Throughout the business cycle, our focus is to design out waste in the material streams and manufacturing processes and to use only pow- er generated from renewable sources such as wind and solar.
All of our own logistic platforms and mobile manufacturing equipment will incorporate EV technology wherever possible and we will emit no manufacturing process residues into the atmosphere whatsoever.
Our raw materials streams are sustainable and all of the components that we use in our manufactured products are 100% recyclable.
The active powders that we incorporate into our products to de-activate (kill) airborne virus are naturally and abundantly occurring and harmless to humans, animals, plant and marine life.
Our back office will operate a paperless administration system and we will have a dedicated manager to ensure compliance with BS 8001.
By operating under the guidance of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation and by implementing BS 8001 we will embed the principles of Make, Use and Recycle into every avenue of our business activities.
Not only because we believe it is important to do so but also because it is the responsible thing to do to make everybody's lives better, cleaner and healthier by regenerating the natural resources and health of the planet.
